BRFM 95.6 is a Community Radio station based in Minster-On-Sea, on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, which
provides a wide range of music, news and local information, traffic & travel. BRFM broadcasts 24 hours
a day 7 days a week from it's current premises situated in oak lane, Minster commonly known as "Windy
Ridge".
Officially named "Bridge Radio" the station is a voluntary organisation that aims to serve the community
of Sheppey and Swale. BRFM is proud to broadcast on 95.6FM and Online
via this website.
 
Over recent years since BRFM began broadcasting ,two
of it's talented presenters, have left the station and began work for
professional stations. Lynsey Butler who worked on the "Flashback Show"
with Mark Peters, left BRFM to work along side a team on BBC Radio Kent,
then after her dedication and hard work, she was then offered a position
co-hosting the Saturday Breakfast show with BBC Radio Kent's Pat Marsh.
David Batchelor who hosted his own Sunday Afternoon Show at BRFM, has recently worked with Invicta
FM (Now known as Heart) and has now developed his career working for BBC Radio 5 Live and the World
Service.
 
BRFM is always producing & presenting interviews with local members of the community whether with
Local Businesses or Local Charities, but has also had the privilege of interviewing Sittingbourne & Sheppey
MP Derek Wyatt and Chief Constable Michael Fuller as part of a programme to allow Locals to put forward
questions for the Chief Constable to answer.  In March 2010 BRFM's Daniel Nash was a feature on the
Kent County Council Website because of his hard work and dedication on his popular "Monday Night
Community Show" which invites so many members of the community to talk/chat live On-Air.
 
                                            In January 2010 BRFM Management was proud to announce to its Staff
                                            that there hard work over the past 3 years has paid off. Swale Borough
                                             Council allowed BRFM to broadcast its shows from new premises in
                                            Sheerness - the heart of it's community. BRFM will be working hard through
                                             the Spring and Summer of 2010 to refurbish "The Pavilion" building into a
                                             state of the art broadcasting suite.

The BRFM What's On Guide (Formally known as "The Community Events Diary")
If you are a local charity or voluntary organisation that needs help advertising your forthcoming event, then
get in contact with BRFM who will advertise you event through the What's On Guide which is part of every
Daytime show 7 days a Week from 7am to 7pm. Simply E-mail all the details of your Event along with a
Contact Name & Phone Number to Office@brfm.net
 
Advertising with BRFM
Yes, you can advertise with BRFM either on the Radio on on this website, if you are a local business and
are currently struggling let us get your message out there, let BRFM take the strain. You can have an
advert played on the Station during the Day, Sponsor a Show or have your company logo and contact

Working at BRFM
Working at BRFM is a great way to further your career in radio, and is also great way
to socialise and create some great friends. If you have some experience in radio but
would like to develop your skills, then get in contact with the BRFM Management who
are always looking for volunteer presenters to cover shows during
regular presenters absence or offer you time to fill a full time slot. Please note BRFM
is a voluntary organisation and no presenters or staff receive any money for the
time they give up. If you are interested please E-mail your interest to Office@brfm.net. Our Station
Manager will then be in touch (The Management will ask for a Demo CD/MP3, so please ensure you have one
available)
