Written by Nathan Silveston on 20 May 2016
Tony Aldridge, drummer from 60’s band The Pathfinders is my special guest on Big L’s Solid 60’s on Saturday 28th. May from 10.00am UK time.
He will be talking about their song, I Love You Caroline which was nearly chosen as the song for Radio Caroline (the song chosen, as we all know was the one by The Fortunes).
He will also speak with us about the band recording at Abbey Road studios & the amazing musical explosion in and around Merseyside.
We’ll also be playing singles the band recorded for Decca (yes, the label that turned down The Beatles, allegedly) and Parlaphone (who signed the Beatles).
The photographs show the members of the band in 1964, 65 and 66 plus an up to date picture of our guest, Also, taken from the Daily Express, a Merseyside chart from December 1964, with The Pathfinders at No.5. So join me if you canSaturday 28th from ten!
