BRFM GRANTED Planning for new studios by SBC

95.6 BRFM have been GRANTED planning permission to move into new buildings

Since 2006, BRFM have been transmitting from a shipping container on the Minster Cliffs.  After applications to Swale Borough Council and the support of Minster Parish Council, BRFM have been told planning permission has been granted to move into more suitable buildings.  Still on the same site in Minster, the studio won’t move far (just across the drive).

This move will enable the station to continue into the New Licence (granted earlier this year by Ofcom for another 5 years) and provide a better service with new equipment and facilities.

 

Right:  This is where BRFM has been transmitting for the last 9 and a half years.  It has seen some changes with new equipment being added and many presenters over the years have been through he doors as well as visitors and guests.

Below:  This is the new buildings awaiting building works and equipment to begin the stations move into new studios and facilities.

 

BRFM is a Not – For – Profit company so will be fundraising over the next few month to raise money / funds to carry out the works needed.  Already we have been inundated with offers of help and look forward to bringing the community together in this project.
