College Plans for Sittingbourne

Government minister Conservative MP Nick Boles, is due to visit Swale to examine plans for a college in Sittingbourne.
The minister in charge of business and education, was quizzed by local MP Gordon Henderson, on whether there are plans to establish a further education (FE) college in the area.
Sittingbourne is currently the largest town in Kent without its own FE college.
The Minister will visit the Swale Skills Centre to learn about how, with the right help, it could easily and cheaply be extended into a small college.
A meeting has also been arranged with the leader of Kent County Council, Paul Carter, to discuss securing funding from the local authority for the expansion.
Gordon Henderson will return to BRFM in the new year to answer listener’s questions.
