Exciting Opportunity to Take Part in Production from BAFTA Award-Winning Artists Group

Written by on 15 April 2016

Reminder: Exciting Opportunity to Take Part in Production from BAFTA Award-Winning Artists Group!

You might have read about our latest exciting opportunity to be part of the cast for a site-specific immersive theatre production coming to Medway!

We’d like to send a gentle reminder that if you wish to register your interest or find out more, please email us at oba@ideastest.co.uk

Ideas Test has co-commissioned BAFTA award winning Blast Theory and celebrated immersive theatre company Hydrocracker to collaborate in a new work for 2016.

Shocked by the ongoing revelations about police surveillance and the behaviour of undercover officers, Hydrocracker and Blast Theory have devised OPERATION BLACK ANTLER, immersive theatre that invites audience members to take on a new identity to explore the ethics of undercover surveillance.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO TAKE PART?

We are looking for community cast members who will work with the highly experienced actors from Hydrocracker to develop characters integral to the operation.

At the given date and time the audience arrive at a secret location. As soon as they arrive they are dropped into the hushed, purposeful preparations for a major undercover operation. Experienced police handlers welcome them inside. Mugshots pepper the walls. Surveillance kits are being checked.

In a small group a handler briefs audience members. Intelligence has just arrived that a group has arranged a gig beginning in less than an hour’s time. Audience members need to develop a new identity in double quick time and get to the venue. If you’d like to find out more about being a part of Operation Black Antler email Jane & Katie at oba@ideastest.co.uk

WHEN IS IT?

Book a place for the first casting workshop on the evening of 21st April. We are looking for a variety of ages, from 18-100. Please note that cast members must be over 18.

Selected community cast members will need to be available for two evening workshops in May/June to start building characters and entering the world of Operation Black Antler.

Week beginning 13 June – We will invite you to meet the professional cast and start rehearsals on selected evenings/weekend.

Week beginning 20 June – Production week and rehearsals. You will need to have availability for evenings and some days.

24 – 26 June – Operation Black Antler goes live. You will need good availability for this period.

We will pay £15 per night expenses during the run, which lasts from 24th to 26th June.

We hope to see you there!
