Sheerness ILB in Bridge Search
Following a report that a person had possibly jumped from the Sheppey crossing the Sheerness ILB and other Emergency Services were Tasked to the area last night.
The volunteer crew of the RNLI Sheerness inshore lifeboat were called at 11.33pm on Monday 23 May to reports that a person had possibly jumped from the Sheppey Crossing bridge.
The lifeboat was on the scene at 11.45pm and along with a team from
the Sheppey Coastguard and the Coastguard helicopter from Lydd commenced a search of the area in and around the crossing.
All units were stood down at 12.07 am after it was reported that the person had been found safe and well on Sheppey and detained by Kent Police.
The ILB was back on station at 12.40am
