Crossing Closed One Way Due To High Winds

We have just been advised that the A249 Sheppey Crossing has been closed heading off the island due to high winds, but open coming onto the Island.

    Could be worse, On the Severn Bridge you pay a toll to get into Wales, it’s free to leave…

    Perhaps if we paid to come over the bridge they would have a better job of building the blasted thing , i:e safety ?

    Doesn’t make much sense only closing it one way winds gonna affect both sides surely

    When I drove onto the island, at lunch time, the mobile warning signs were on saying” Bad Weather Sheppey Crossing Closed” however they were dimly lit and many drivers either didn’t see them or ignored them and drove over. I think there should be a barrier or dedicated warning lights at the start of the bridge ? they couldn’t cone it off as wind would blow the cones all over the place! ?

    I’d just like to say thank you to all the marvellous car drivers who let me filter past on my motorbike this evening. I’d also like to apologise to the lady who I scared to death. I could see that she was about to pull onto the roundabout in front of me from about 30 yards away. Blimey, it did make her jump when I bibbed my horn at her. Lol ?
