Accident closes Scocles Road, Minster

Accident closes busy Sheppey Road

Emergency services are currently at the scene of an accident around one of Sheppey’s busiest roads, involving a car & lorry.

Two fire engines were called to Scocles Road in Minster just after 3:00pm this afternoon (Monday 7th August)

Police are turning around traffic, heading from Eastchurch on the Lower Road just before the Scocles Road junction, and diverting them through Minster village.

Kent Fire & Rescue have said “Crews are attending an accident involving a car and large goods vehicle”

Emergency services are helping the ambulance service with one casualty whose injuries are not yet known.

The car involved, was at one stage, on fire before Firefighters tackled the blaze using a hose reel jet.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area, and to find an alternative route or delay their journey.
