New Shops open for Business at July’s Kent County Show

Visitors to the Kent County Show on 6th, 7th, 8th July can enjoy a host of new shopping areas featuring the best of the county.

The Antiques and Vintage Village will this year be organised by Love Fairs. Their 65 knowledgeable dealers will have a host of hidden treasures and collectables for visitors to browse and purchase. From jewellery, art and silver, to shabby chic, art deco and vintage, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to find something unique. There will also be a variety of entertainment on offer to add to the buzzing atmosphere of the Antiques and Vintage Village located in the John Hendry Pavilion. On the Friday, enjoy foot tapping Swing and Jazz from Steve Conway and Lianne Haynes. Saturday will see The Jazzeroos and The Medway Lindy Hoppers putting on a show, and on Sunday The Retrobates will be bringing a touch of rock and roll to the proceedings.

The Keep It Local Craft Marquee is also new for 2018. Featuring 27 stalls offering leatherwork, pottery, woodwork, claycraft and art, all traders in this area are based in the South East. Shop For Something Different makes its debut at the Kent County Show with stallholders selling a range of handmade items including ceramics, photography, and artwork.

The Kent Attractions area will have on display the county’s top destinations for a day out. Find stands from Howletts & Port Lympne, Leeds Castle, Maidstone Museum, Betteshanger Park, The National Trust, Jetstream Tours, Buckmore Park Karting Ltd, and Kent Wildlife Trust to get a taste of what they have on over the summer. Meet the falconers and birds of prey from Leeds Castle and discover the animals you can find at Howletts and Port Lympne. Visit Kent Wildlife Trust to see how they look after the county’s wildlife and their habitats or discover what it’s like to speed around a race track at Buckmore Park Karting Ltd.

Another new shopping area for 2018 is the Enterprise Zone, featuring ten Kent based companies that have been running for less than a year. Each
has received a free trade stand to help them increase exposure for their company. The passion these new entrepreneurs have for their business is
incredible. There will be an array of beautiful products and services including handmade textiles and placemats, silk flowers, accessories for
babies, a local artist and photographer, bees wax products, specially designed clothing range for children with autism, an entertainment agency, and t-shirts for breast feeding mums. The Enterprise Zone can be found next to Catering Court A.

Trade Co-Ordinator for the Kent County Show, Rosie Gouldsworthy, said “we are thrilled to be able to offer visitors to the Show such a wide
variety of shopping experiences. 2018 will be a big year for the Show with the Household Cavalry Musical Ride performing and our new areas will certainly add to the Show experience.”

These new areas join regular favourites in the Food Hall, Wine and Cheese Tent, The Wrinkly Roadshow, and Eden Crafts along with a host of unique stands offering everything from chocolate wine to garden benches. Stands in the Garden Life Marquee will also have plants for sale with a Plant Crèche to leave your purchases until the end of the day.

The Kent County Show takes place at the Detling Showground on Friday 6th, Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th July 2018.
