Car alight against building – Sittingbourne

16-03-2017 Firefighters were called to the scene off Castle Road on the Eurolink Trading Estate in Sittingbourne following reports of a vehicle on fire against a commercial building. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a high-pressure hose reel jet to extinguish the flames. A neighbouring property is thought to have sustained some smoke logging from the fire. The cause of the fire will be investigated. There are no reports of any injuries.

 Kent Police are appealing for witnesses

Officers investigating a fire at an industrial unit in Sittingbourne are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Kent Police received a report at 12.24am on Thursday 16 March 2017 that a car had been in collision with an industrial unit in Castle Road, Sittingbourne.

Officers attended the scene and the car was found to be alight.

The premises were unoccupied at the time.

The fire is currently being treated as suspicious.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
