#NO34IS1 – CELEBRATING ONE YEAR OF IDEAS TEST @NO.34 HIGH STREET, SITTINGBOURNE ON SATURDAY 3 DECEMBER
No. 34, the creative hub in the heart of Sittingbourne, is celebrating its one year
birthday this month, with a family-friendly celebration of creativity on Sat 3 December
11am-3pm.
No.34 is run by grassroots arts organisation Ideas Test, which works hand in hand with
communities in Swale & Medway, empowering them to live more creative lives. In the
past 12 months, Ideas Test has gone from strength to strength, helping more than
2500 people take part in 84 arts events, from family printmaking workshops and dance
sessions for over 60s, to business and digital skills sessions.
Steph Fuller, Director of Ideas Test, says: ‘It’s been a fantastic year and we’ve loved
seeing first hand what taking part in creativity means to people locally. The cherry on
the cake is that thanks to a £750,000 Arts Council England grant we’ll be continuing
and extending what we do for another three years.’
Ideas Test is inviting everyone to come along and take part in a free family-friendly
event on 3 December at No.34 High Street Sittingbourne, complete with seasonal
snacks and drinks to welcome you in from the Winter cold.
Guests can learn how to make origami Christmas decorations with help from Animate
Arts; dance and doodle with our Draw While You Dance area; and be the first to find out
about a new local photography project Your Town, from award winning
Sittingbourne-based photographer Simon Martin.
Ideas Test are asking the community to take part in the celebrations by sharing their
memories and cultural highlights using the hashtag #No34is1 on Twitter, Instagram
and Facebook. The team will also be reposting the best pictures, creations, and
memories shared, as well as a few of their own highlights from the past year.
