NEW EVENT CELEBRATES THE BEST KENT FOOD IN THE KENT COUNTRYSIDE

The Kent County Agricultural Society have launched a new event for visitors to sample the best of Kent’s restaurants and eateries in the heart of the Kent countryside on Saturday 5th September.

Food on the Field is a new event at the Kent Showground, home of the Kent County Show, and will showcase the county’s top food and drink establishments. Visitors will have a chance to try signature dishes and drinks whilst enjoying the Kent countryside. With two-time winners of the Taste of Kent Awards, the Butchers Block, and silver winners of the Independent English Wine Awards, Meopham Valley Vineyards, already confirmed, Food on the Field is set to be a foodie heaven.

Lucy Hegarty, show manager, said: “It’s been a hard year for the hospitality industry, we would normally be wrapping up the Kent County Show at this time of the year, so we wanted to do something to really celebrate the best of the industry in Kent. Food on the Field is the perfect opportunity for visitors to get outside, enjoy delicious food, and support local businesses.”

Each restaurant will have a selection of their signature dishes in taster size for visitors to try a variety of different tastes and flavours. Alongside the Kent restaurants and bars, Food on the Field will also feature a farmer’s market for visitors to buy and take home local produce.
