Get ready for winter with free salt
To help residents keep their paths free of ice and snow, the council will once again be handing out 3,000 free sacks of salt across the borough .
The salt giveaway will take place on Small Business Saturday, 3 December, in Faversham, Sheerness and Sittingbourne, when residents can pick up the free bags, whilst they do their shopping – either in town centre car parks or at the park and ride locations.
Keeping paths free of ice and snow not only makes it easier for people to get into and out of their homes, but makes things like putting out the bins much easier and – crucially – safer.
The sacks will be available to collect from 10am-2pm, and are limited to one sack per person on a first come, first served basis. at:
Faversham:
• Central Car Park, Faversham
• The Abbey School, London Road
Sheerness
• Rose Street Car Park, Sheerness
• Sheerness – Oasis Academy, Isle of Sheppey, West Campus, Marine Parade
Sittingbourne:
• Forum Car Park, Sittingbourne
• Sittingbourne – Meadowfield School, Swanstree Avenue
