Golden Leas Holiday Parks in Minster, Isle of Sheppey Go Above and Beyond in Time of Need

Written by on 29 April 2020

Jo from Golden Leas spoke to BRFM’s Peter Finch about the fantastic work and competitions they are doing whilst everyone is in Isolation and the Parks are closed.

One such competition is to Design a 2020 Golden Leas, Hollybush & Estuary View postcard. Golden Leas are launching a competition for all kids 3 – 12 years old to design a postcard for all the caravan owners to purchase during the 2020 holiday season. The top 3 designs as voted by the park team will then win a gift hamper.

The winner will then have their design used as the official postcard to be sold at the park with all proceeds being donated to a local Isle of Sheppey Charity.

All you have to do is take a picture and email to jo@lovatparks.com, and they will upload it to their photo album ‘2020 Postcard Competition’ on the Facebook page. Entries close on Sunday 3rd May 2020, so don’t delay

They’ve had some brilliant entries so far:

Golden Leas Holiday Parks are also giving away a break for someone who is deserving or hardworking during these times of uncertainty. Jo said:

Its time to spread the love, so here is your chance to say thank you to somebody who really deserves a break. These times are challenging and Golden Leas want to bring some cheer to your day.

All you need to do is:
✅ Like our page
✅ Share the post
✅ Tag up to 3 people who deserve the break

Whoever is selected will be given use of a Golden Leas holiday home for free, for one week, as a thank you for your hard work and commitment to the country during Covid-19, or as a well done for getting through a tough time; or both.

The winner will be announced on Friday 22nd May 2020.

T&Cs – The holiday home can only be used when the park has re-opened and it is safe to travel. The holiday would need to be used before December 2021.

And finally, Jo explained how with local companies help they have been delivering vegetable and fruit boxes to people who are in isolation. They were now on what they called ‘Veg box donations ROUND THREE!’

She said “We received a lovely inbox message from incredible Dawn who donated £40, so we matched her donation to make it up to £80 and purchased another 8 boxes.

We’ve been lucky enough to cover most of the island including Minster, Eastchurch, Warden Bay, Sheerness and Leysdown with our donations!

So the Golden Leas team distributed some more fresh vegetables to:
– Welcome Home Residential Home in Warden Bay
– The Island Residential Home in Leysdown
– Moordean Care Home in Minster
– Age UK Sheppey in Sheerness

THANK you to those who have donated, and THANK you to all the key workers.

You can help by making donations to be included in the boxes being distributed by the Golden Leas Team. Go to their facebook page and message Jo. https://www.facebook.com/GoldenLeas/ and keep up with everything they are doing for the community.
