A-Level success in Swale

A-Level Results are in for the Class of 2017 across Sittingbourne & Sheppey

Students across Sittingbourne & Sheppey have been finding out whether they received the grades needed after 2 years of hard work in Colleges & Sixth Forms across the borough.

Results were revealed on Thursday morning across Schools in Sittingbourne & Sheppey, and here is how our schools performed:

Westlands, Sittingbourne Community College & Swale Skills Centre:

The Swale Academies trust that serves 2 of our secondary schools in Sittingbourne and also the Swale Skills Centre had more than 170 students students sitting exams this summer, and sat more than 420 exams. Between them they achieved more than 280 A* to C grades in over 40 different courses.

Borden Grammar:

The town centre boys grammar school in Sittingbourne had 116 students sit exams where 64% achieved A*- C Grades.

One pupil broke the School’s record for top results, Craig Clark achieved four A*’s & two A’s and is now off to St. Anne’s College in Oxford to study Physics.

Fulston Manor:

More than 60 students are off to university thanks to Fulston, including Canterbury Christ Church and the University of Kent.

Among the high achievers Fulston Manor pupil Kaitlyn Festa achieved three A*’s & two A’s.

Highstead Grammar School:

There was an impressive 100% pass rate at the Sittingbourne Girls Grammar school. The percentage of students achieving at least one A* or A was 69%, up from 63% compared to last year.

The Oasis Academy:

The Oasis Academy on Sheppey is celebrating its best ever post-16 results.

Described as a “small and tightly-knit group”, 14 students sat full A-levels in eight subjects and nine of them achieved A* to Cs, which is 61% compared to last year’s 39%.

Don’t forget GCSE Exam results are released this Thursday, 24th August from 10am
