The Lone Trucker Half Century Challenge

A close friend passed away on 27.02.17.

My Name is Rik Francis (AKA Disco Rik), I am a HGV driver who turns 50 in March 2017 and have set myself the goal of cycling 2500 miles from the Isle of Sheppey in north Kent cross country to Lands End Cornwall then onto John O’Groats then return back to where I started hugging the eastern coastline as much as possible.
I will be travelling alone pulling a small trailer behind me with the bare essentials such as tent, sleeping bag, minimal rations and phone to minimise weight. I have no support team along the route

I will be away from my wife and daughter and will only be in phone contact with them
My aim is to complete the challenge within the month of May 2017.
I am raising money for two charities the NSPCC and Cancer research and would be grateful if donations were split evenly between each charity. All donations great or small appreciated.
