Officers appeal following high value fruit thefts

 

Kent Police is appealing for information following high value fruit thefts.

Officers have received reports that strawberries and cherries have been stolen from various farms in and around Faversham.

There have been three reported thefts near Church Road, Tonge, with thefts reported to have taken place between 18 and 19 July, 22 July, and 26 July. It is reported that around £1,600 worth of fruit was stolen.

Officers are also investigating a reported theft from land near Head Hill Road, Faversham, where it was reported that between 7 July and 22 July around £2,400 of soft fruit was stolen.

Officers are also investigating whether a fruit theft reported near Kenward Road, Yalding, is connected. It was reported that around £2,000 worth of fruit was stolen between 26 and 27 July.

Investigating officer, PC Marc Pennicott of the Rural Task Force, said: ‘These thefts are all very similar so we believe they may be linked and I would encourage anyone with information to get in touch.’
