Officers investigating a report that a laser pen was shone at a driver in Kemsley are appealing for information.

It is reported that at around 7pm on Thursday 12 November a group of young people, who were stood on the green area in Vaughan Drive, shone a laser pen at a passing van. The driver, a man in his 30s, suffered eye injuries and has received hospital treatment.

PC Steven Bassett, investigating officer at Kent Police, said: ‘Shining a laser pen into someone’s eyes or at a moving vehicle is not only a criminal offence, but it is dangerous.

‘I would encourage anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information to contact police as you may be able to help with our ongoing enquiries.’
