Swale’s London Marathon runners

With just one day left of training for runners to prepare themselves for this years London Marathon, we highlight some of the Borough’s runners who are taking on the 26.2 mile challenge around the sites of London. Organisers have already sent messages to competitors regarding the recent rise in temperatures, warning them to make sure they take advantage of the extra water stops. Forecasters have said that the 2018 marathon could be the hottest marathon on record with mercury possibly hitting 22 Celsius.

Each year participants from the BRFM region take on the challenge, this year we highlight the participants that have made themselves know to raise money for their chosen charities. This year BRFM says good luck to:

Suzi RawesChairperson of Sittingbourne based charity “Sporting Tree Foundation”

The Sporting Tree Foundation aim to inspire and encourage young sports people and dancers to fulfil their full potential. Suzi says:  “I’m running for a cause very close to my heart, a charity called Sporting Tree Foundation. This charity gives grants to sports and dance organisations to help athletes access opportunities that may not have otherwise been available to them. Please support this worthy cause and help raise some funds for the kids!”

BRFM has helped the Sporting Tree Foundation over recent years, by supporting them at their annual fundraising/awareness fun day.
