BRFM Police dog stopped driver who rammed officers in Sittingbourne

A dangerous driver who sped from police and crashed into a roundabout in Sittingbourne has been jailed for a year.
Savill , 20, of no fixed address, was detained by a police dog when he exited the wrecked Mercedes in April this year.
Earlier, he had driven recklessly in an attempt to escape a pursuing police vehicle.
This included speeding at 90mph in a 50mph zone, 70mph in a 30mph zone, and sharply breaking before reversing into a police car.
Savill lost control at the Key Street Roundabout where he hit a curb and came to a stop facing oncoming traffic.
He was detained by PD Parker when he exited the car.
It later emerged that Savill was driving without insurance and without a valid licence.
He was also found to be in breach of a suspended sentence.
He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving without insurance or a licence and was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 11 September 2017.
Sergeant Barry Carr said: ‘Savill was a dangerous and reckless driver whose actions put himself and other road users at risk.
‘Thankfully this incident came to an end without any serious harm to our officers or the public.’
