Getting our own back! – Saturday 16th June

Preparations are well underway as the Queenborough Independence Day event is just day’s away, raising money for the Sheerness Lifeboat.

Its 351 years since the Dutch invasion and this year marks 51 years since the handing back of Queenborough by the Dutch in a ceremony performed at Queenborough on 17th June 1967.

This Saturday, Queenborough celebrates the handing back of the town, with a day of fun for everyone.

Here’s a comprehensive list of what to expect on the day:

12:00pm: Dutch Invasion – Sheppey Pirates (Expect loud explosions)

1:00pm: Flag Ceremony – Mayors of Queenborough & Swale
