Santa Called for Christmas!

Written by on 24 December 2017

Here at BRFM, we wanted to make Christmas 2017 a little bit special for our “little people” on the island.  So, we enlisted the help of you, our listeners, and the man in the big red coat whose sleigh was powered by Shaun And Steve O’Meara Butchers on The Broadway, Minster.
Every morning in the week before the big day on BRFM Breakfast, Santa called children live from The North Pole to deliver his Christmas cheer and make their day.
Santa’s Calling 2017 was brought to you in association with Shaun & Steve O’Meara Butchers and The Original Factory Shop, Neats Court in Queenborough.  But, we’d also like to thank the awesome generosity of Lindsey & Dean Hanson and Stacey and her young daughter for buying presents for some of the kids.
The final Santa’s Calling on Friday morning was to Sean, aged 11, Lily, 6 and Dixie-Belle, aged 2.  Their mum, Trena Bell, suffered two cardiac arrests and a stroke during a routine operation in October last year.  As a result, the past year has been very difficult for the family.
The children’s grandmother, Julie Playle, from Sheerness, nominated her grandchildren to receive our special call from Santa as they had been through “a hell of a year” and she thought they deserved a special treat!
