Start Up Slam – Sign Up Info

Written by on 6 July 2017

If you’re between 14-16 and want dip your toes into trying some creative workshops such as…

Urban Dance, Music, Filmmaking, Drama, Theatrical Make Up, Printmaking, Puppeteering, and Graffiti

You need to be at Ideas Test’s Start Up Slam – coming this Summer to No.34!

This Summer Ideas Test are bringing Start Up Slam to No.34.

“What is Start Up Slam?”

It’s our exciting project for 14-16 year olds and is supported by Kent County CouncilU+I, the regeneration scheme; and Swale Borough Council.

Start Up Slam is an interactive and immersive two week event where you’ll get the chance to learn first hand about some of the most popular creative jobs out there, and what you need to do to start working in them.

At special taster workshops sessions, you’ll get the chance to try different art forms and opportunities from Music Skills to Theatrical Make-Up, from Dance to Street Art. You can even try puppetry or printmaking.

“Sounds good…anything else?”

Oh yes!

Not only do you get the chance to try all those careers, you’ll get your own mentor – an industry professional who’ll help you decide on what to do next.

And the Ideas Test team will also be sharing info on their jobs, their experiences, and how they got started in a career in the arts.

With a team made up of photographers, headteachers, art gallery owners, artists, and radio broadcasters we hope we’ve learned a thing or two that we can pass onto you!

It really is a amazing opportunity for young people to learn more about creative careers and to take control of their future.

Oh and you’ll also get free food too!

“Sounds great! How do I apply?”

Easy!

You can apply online using this form.

If you want the application form in another format, or have any questions regarding Start Up Slam, email contact@ideastest.co.uk, or call us on 07713 865955, or pop into No.34 High Street Sittingbourne and chat to a member of our team.

The deadline to apply is Friday 14th July – and we only have 10 spaces!

Who knows – your future career might be changed forever!
