Appeal for witnesses with Information

A local building company are appealing for witnesses after thieves stole valuable tools from the company vehicle in Sittingbourne this afternoon (Wednesday 23rd August).
The Builders, who were working on a house extension in Ufton Lane, noticed valuable tools had been stolen from the works van parked just meters from the site where they had been working all day.

D & P Builders who have been trading in Sittingbourne since 1980 are a small family run company, noticed the tools had been stolen as they went back to the works van to collect a spare part, for equipment they were currently using, when they noticed tools had been taken.

Company directors Denis & Philip say “We believe someone must have been watching us in a car, as it was less than 5 minutes before we went back to the van and we noticed the tools had disappeared”

The theft took place between 1pm & 1:15pm this lunchtime in Ufton Lane Sittingbourne between the junction of Epps Road and the public footpath that joins Manor Grove.

The tools stolen are believed to cost over £1000, and will take some time before they can be replaced.

Police are currently investigating the theft, and are appealing for anyone with information in the Ufton Lane area of Sittingbourne to come forward with any information by telephoning 101.
