incidents from HM Coastguard Sheppey this week

Sunday 24th September @11.00am – Sheppey Coastguards were tasked to the sea wall near Shipwright Arms, Hollowshore, Faversham. Casualty was a female with suspect broken leg. Casualty was recovered by stretcher to awaiting ambulance for onward transmission to hospital for x-ray. Coastguard Rescue Officer Ian Goodwin commented ‘we regularly train in the recovery of casualties in difficult circumstances and terrain. On this occasion the casualty was given first aid by our Station Officer Tim Judge who is a ‘first responder’ for the ambulance service and Deputy Station Office Eammon French who is a first aid trainer for the service.
