“Slipped away peacefully” – Tributes paid to Sittingbourne teenager
A Sittingbourne teenager who inspired a huge fundraising campaign after she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour has died.
Elizabeth Adams, who was a student at the Sittingbourne Community College (SCC), better known as Lizzy, received the devastating news last year that she had a mass on her brain.
The popular girl, from Conyer near Teynham, bravely battled the illness for more than 12 months and inspired the local community to donate more than £55,000 to support her and the family through Fun days and other fundraising events in Sittingbourne & Teynham.
At 6:10am this morning (Thursday), Lizzy “slipped away peacefully” while surrounded by her family.
A Facebook post announcing the news read: “Fly high with the angels our beautiful princess.”
BRFM helped promote the events organised by Lizzy’s family & friends over the past 12 months to help strengthen donations.
BRFM send condolences to Lizzy’s family & friends at this sad time.
