Accident leaves A249 at a standstill
A crash on the A249 has blocked the outside lane and is causing huge queues.
Motorists heading to the Isle of Sheppey are at a standstill as emergency services deal with an incident.
One driver told BRFM the traffic is queuing as far back as Detling Hill.
The queues are also having a knock-on effect for traffic on the M2 coming off at Junction 5.
Delays are also affecting traffic around Sittingbourne and surrounding routes.
According to Kent Highways, normal traffic conditions are not expected to return to normal until 8pm.

This has just popped up on my news feed. I was stuck in this on Detling Hill yesterday evening from about 6.15pm, tuned to BRFM, but didn’t hear it mentioned. Until now, I had no idea why! ? I hope all involved were OK.
