Body of Infant Girl Found in Sheerness, Kent police Detective Inspector Richard Vickery Reports

Kent Police appeal for information, Following Discovery of Body of an Infant.

Kent police are continuing to appeal for information, after the Body of an Infant were found in the park between the Swimming pool and the Roman Catholic Church on Broadway, Sheerness. at 12.48pm on Saturday 4th March 2017.

Little is currently known about the little girl, and neither is the cause of death. Officers believe that she may have been newly born.

Police are also keen to find the Mother of the Infant, as they are concerned for her Welfare.

 

 

Detective Inspector Richard Vickery, the senior investigating officer, said:

We’re very keen to locate the mother of this girl as we are concerned for her wellbeing and want to make sure she is receiving the necessary emotional and medical support.

 

Police also found the Remnants of a small fire at the scene, and it is believed it was started between 10am and 12:30pm

Numerous lines of enquiry, including forensic analysis, a review of CCTV and speaking with witnesses remain ongoing.

Detective Inspector Richard Vickery, is urging People that may have information to come forward.

We also want to hear from anyone who was in Broadway in the late morning of 4 March. Even if someone thinks what they saw isn’t important, the smallest amount of information could be crucial to us finding out how and why this happened.

Those that do come forward should know that the information will be handled in a sensitive way.
