Land Rover fire on A249

Written by on May 8, 2017

07-05-2017 Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire involving a Land Rover on the A249 near the Detling Showground. The vehicle was heading in the direction of the Isle of Sheppey and was towing a six foot trailer, which was not involved in the blaze. Two fire engines attended and fire crews wearing breathing apparatus used compressed air foam to extinguish the blaze, which destroyed the vehicle. A horse had been led to safety prior to the arrival of firefighters. Kent Police and the Highways Agency were also in attendance and the A249 southbound was closed during firefighting operations.
