Seasons Greetings from the Sheerness Lifeboats crew

The coxswain and crew of the Sheerness Lifeboats thank all their supporters after another busy year
The volunteer crews of the Sheerness lifeboats have attended 80 plus incidents this year so far, making them one of the busiest RNLI lifeboat stations in the country.
Sheerness lifeboat station is based in Sheerness Docks and is therefore not as ‘visible’ as the majority of other lifeboat stations.
The station is manned by a full time coxswain with the crew members all being part time volunteers.
There are two lifeboats based at Sheerness the first being ‘Eleanor’ a five metre long ‘D’ class rigid inflatable inshore craft capable of 25 knots with a crew of three.
The second lifeboat is the Trent class ‘George and Ivy Swanson’ a 14.3 metre,28 tonne, self righting all weather craft also capable of 25 knots carrying a crew of six and with a range of 250 nautical miles.
Sheerness lifeboat coxswain Robin Castle said :’Myself and the crew members would like to wish all our supporters a very Happy Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year’.
